WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS WHEN HIRING A VEHICLE FROM ROADRENTALS?
– A valid full driver licence applicable to the vehicle hired is required at time of collection of the vehicle. The licence must be in English with a photo and produced at the rental commencement.
– A valid Credit Card for the bond IF required. If you do not own a credit (Visa, MasterCard or debit card) card we may require a $500 cash bond.
– Eftpos along with internet banking is available.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO RENT A VEHICLE?
The minimum age to hire any vehicle is 21 years old.
HOW DOES INSURANCE WORK?
All vehicles are covered by insurance included in your daily hire charge. The standard insurance excess on all vehicles is $2000.00, however there is the option for the excess to be reduced to $500 or $1000 depending on the vehicle hired, by paying an additional $20 per day provided all authorised drivers are over the age of 25.
WILL I GET A REFUND FOR EARLY RETURN?
Should you decide to return the vehicle prior to the expiry of the hire term you may be entitled to a refund, this is at the discretion of RoadRentals.
CAN I EXTEND MY HIRE?
You may extend your hire providing the vehicle is not pre-booked by another person, just ask at the time of booking if it could be available if required and we will do our very best to ensure it can be.
WHEN DO I PAY?
The full hire payment is required on the day the vehicle is uplifted or before or on return if arranged with RoadRentals.
WHERE DO I COLLECT AND RETURN A VEHICLE?
The vehicle pickup point is RoadRentals situated at 59B Bond St Invercargill, we offer a free airport pickup (arranged 24 hours in advance). The above applies to pick up and returning the vehicle.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
RoadRentals reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for the following conditions:
- No Cancellation Fee – if cancelled more than 14 days prior to rental start date
- 20% Cancellation Fee (capped at $100) – if cancelled less than 14 days, but more than 24 hours prior to rental start date
- 50% Cancellation Fee (capped at $200) – if cancelled less than 24 hours prior to rental start date or no show
I NEED A DRIVER, CAN ROADRENTALS PROVIDE ONE?
RoadRentals can also provide a driver at an additional charge if available.
